History

DG Konkin Construction is a new construction company with a rich background of experience and knowledge in the construction industry.

Brett was raised in the construction industry travelling across Western Canada from a young age with his father Greg Penner. Greg and his brother ran a second generation construction company with its roots originating from founder and father, Ed Penner of Penner Construction. Now in the 3^rd generation of succession, Brett Konkin operates DG Konkin Construction since 2015.

Management & Supervision

Brett Konkin has supervised and managed many projects in construction over the years. Some notable projects:

• City of Brandon South End Lift Station (2008)
• Keystone Centre Sky box Luxury Suites (2009)
• Keystone Centre Concourse roof and mechanical upgrades (2009)
• Riverdale Community Centre in Rivers, MB (2011)
• Tundra Oil and Gas Office (2012)
• Sunrise Credit Union (2014-15)
• Victoria Gateway Medical Building (2014-15)

In addition to Brett’s experience in construction, a key to his success is his education. Brett always believed in good education and staying current with the construction industry practices and standards. He became a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter at the age of 22 and recently became a Gold Seal Certified Superintendent with the Canadian Construction Association, being one of the youngest Superintendents of this credential in Western Canada. Brett also recognized the importance of workplace safety in the industry. Over the years, Brett has attained many different safety certifications.

Greg Penner – Operations Manager

Greg has nearly 40 years of involvement in the construction industry. Formerly Greg Penner Management Ltd, he has held positions as Site Superintendent and Project Manager before becoming Operations Manager. As Operations Manager Greg maintains an active role in the work on many of our sites as he not only manages but continues to stay current by being “at the controls” of any number of pieces of equipment. This attention to detail makes certain that the client’s interests are always at the forefront of any DG Konkin project.

Greg’s knowledge and experience in all on and off site activity makes him a key element of the management team.
